Sugar Maple Ridge started with a love for the land and a commitment to producing high-quality pure maple syrup. Our family-owned business takes pride in our single forest operation, ensuring the highest standards of quality and taste in every bottle.

In 1978 Ivan and Terezija Magdic purchased this land that had sugar maple trees throughout the property located in Waubaushene, Ontario . Soon after Ivan started making maple syrup with just 50 pails and on a flat pan over a wood fire. 

Our forest is a beautiful sugarbush with many maple trees well over 100 years old. This forest is ideal for making maple syrup as it has a gentle slop downwards towards our sugar shack which Ivan built.  What started as a hobby for Ivan has now expanded into a family business. 

In 2019 Marin, the son of Ivan and Terezija along with his family moved full time to the property.  Marin and wife Mariana are continuing Ivan's tradition of sugar making.

In 2023 Marin and wife Mariana formed Sugar Maple Ridge , a family business dedicated to bringing our family , friends, and customers the highest quality of Pure Maple Syrup.

With the help of our children Michael, Peter ,Nicholas, Izabella, Kostas we approach the 2025 Season with 1500 Taps on vacuum and a renovated sugar shack . We invite you to experience the tradition of maple syrup like never before.
